Keepers of the Peace Powwow
The Keepers of the Peace powwow will be held at Trophy Point Amphitheater, West Point NY.
In case of rain, the powwow will be held indoors at the Eisenhower Hall Ballroom
This is an intertribal powwow.

Drums Along the Hudson
The Tenth Annual DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSONŽ: A NATIVE AMERICAN FESTIVAL will take place on Sunday, May 20th, 2012 in Upper Manhattan's Inwood Hill Park from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm, rain or shine. This event is presented by Lotus Music & Dance in collaboration with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, sponsored in part by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Councilman Robert Jackson and WABC-TV.
A FREE, multi cultural family-oriented festival, DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSONŽ includes exhibitions of world dance and drumming traditions as well as Native American crafts and international foods. The festival combines a celebration of Native American heritage, culture, and art with the diversity of New York City itself. In keeping with the underlying theme of environmental appreciation and education, DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSONŽ will continue to feature an Environmental Tent which will include appearances by Captain Planet, courtesy of the Captain Planet Foundation.

POWWOW/FESTIVAL Dedicated to Saint Kateri
National Kateri Shrine, Route 5, one mile west of Fonda,NY
5 Day Historic, unprecedented Pow Wow/Festival Dedicated to Saint Kateri(Lily of the Mohawks),hosted by Metis Nation of North America. Located at the National Kateri Shrine, one mile west of Fonda NY on Rt. 5. For information call Bob Ross at 607-776-6776 or e-mail metisnnaandca@gmail.com, or call the Shrine at 518-835-3646. This Pow Wow is open to the public. Please no drugs or alcohol on the grounds. Admittance at the gate is $6.00 per person, $5.00 for persons over 60 years, kids under 5 free. Aztec Dancers will perform the fire dance daily at 2:00 pm. There will be Iroquois social dancing daily. We would like the public to join in with us and enjoy the festival with us. Candy dance for the kids daily. Intertribal dances that the public can join in and have fun. July 5th at 7pm there will be a small auction of Native Crafts and other items, the money from this will go to a Native American child for college. Trade blanket will take place on July 6th at 7:00 pm. The public is welcome to join in on all activities. **Grand Entry Will Be At Noon Daily.** All Veterans Will Be Honored Daily At About 12:30 pm. This Will Include Police, Firefighters and Paramedics. These Brave Men and Women Give Their Lives So We Can Live in a Free Land. Native foods, crafts, and dancing will take place every day, breakfast will be available each morning at the food booth. PLEASE VISIT THE NATIVE AMERICAN MUSEUM AND THE HISTORICAL NATIVE VILLAGE SITE ON THE HILL.***THIS EVENT is being held on the SACRED GROUNDS of the NATIONAL KATERI SHRINE. This years' gathering is dedicated to Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, (Lily of the Mohawks), the ONLY NATIVE AMERICAN IN HISTORY TO RECEIVE SAINTHOOD. Her long overdue canonization will occur in October of this year. The Metis Nation of North America would be honored for any of our Northeast Neighbors to attend and join us in the experience of this Strong Medicine, Once in a Lifetime Gathering. **DANCERS wanting to traditionally "Gift" their talents in honor of this extaordinary woman, Kateri, are encouraged to attend and the gift will be helping this monumentous occasion. ***The Drums Are Sounding...Pass The Word.. Bus ticket prices: $28.67 (per seat for all ages). Round trip travel from NYC and Pow Wow admission included. Estimated arrival time at the Pow Wow is 11:00 a.m.
Bear Mountain Shuttle bus tickets go on sale starting July 01, 2012.
The bus will depart Bear Mountain for NYC at 4:00 p.m.
Bus tickets are round trip, valid only on selected dates.
A valid photo ID is required* to board the bus
Arrive at the bus pick up location (One Bowling Green or 167 W125th St.) at least 10 minutes before departure; the bus will leave promptly at its scheduled time.
This is a rain or shine outdoor event, therefore no refunds will be given.
Bus Seating is limited to 48 people each day. It is highly recommended to purchase bus tickets in advance.
