SCOTSDALE – Construction crews have raised 12 stories of steel girders for the new 15-story Casino Arizona Resort & Spa east of Scottsdale. The top
3 stories of the steel structure will be in place in mid-October. Final completion for this project is scheduled for 2010.

Russ Burbank, Casino Arizona's Sr. VP and CEO, said the temporary tent structures that now house the casino will eventually be replaced with parking lots, and the new casino will compare in gaming space with the Casino Arizona's location on McKellips Road at Loop 101.

"All the feedback we've gotten so far has been very positive," Burbank said.

The Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau spokeswoman, Rachel Pearson, said "I think with it right on the border, their guests are going to enjoy the amenities that Scottsdale has to offer.” She believes Scottsdale will benefit from the increase in visitors to the casino.
