TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA - The Twentynine Palms Band of Mission Indians announced plans for their new Nüwü Casino Resort & RV Park, a multimillion-dollar project to be built on their 160-acre reservation.

Groundbreaking will be in the spring 2008 with completion of the casino by the end of 2008.
  • 60,000-square-foot building
  • 350 slot machines
  • Table games including Texas Hold’em and blackjack
  • Bingo parlor
  • Fine dining restaurant and bar
  • All-you-can-eat buffet
  • KOA campground 100+ sites for RVs and tents plus miles of dedicated hiking trails.

Later Development:

  • National brand resort hotel with 100+ guest rooms
  • Outdoor amphitheater with 1,000 seats
  • Retail center
  • Championship golf course
  • Residential properties
  • Possibly a 14,000-square-foot bowling lane facility and billiards room

The location is a mile from Highway 62 at Adobe and Baseline roads on the corner of the tribe's 160-acre reservation. The distance is 54 miles northeast of Palm Springs.

The Nüwü Casino Resort is named after the ancient Chemehuevi Indian word for "The People,"

The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians are descendents of the Chemehuevi Indians and was federally recognized as a tribe in 1891. Their tribal lands include two reservations comprised of 160 acres in Twentynine Palms and 240 acres in Coachella, California.
