Agua Caliente Will Open New Hotel April 18th

February 13, 2008

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA - On April 18th the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians will host a grand opening of their new resort hotel, spa and expanded casino on April 18th for VIPs and open to the public on April 19th.

The 15-story building is located next to the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage and will feature 344 graciously-appointed guest rooms, a spa, pool, cabana complex, and a conference center. A 2,000-seat entertainment venue is under construction and scheduled to open in December.

The hotel was designed by resort architects VOA Associates, who is ranked among the industry's top firms, including Hotel & Motel Management's top 100 Design Firms, Interior Design Magazine's top 100 Interior Design Giants, and Building Design & Construction's Top 300 Design Firms.

Tribe Chairman Milanovich said "The hotel development and casino expansion project is a continuation of the Tribe's long standing history of creating solid economic stimulus to the area, and it is a critical step for the entire community in terms of job creation, increased business service contracts and tourism opportunities. It is our goal to help the local communities understand the economic stimulus that this development and expansion project will bring, while demonstrating the Tribe's commitment to being an involved, conscientious neighbor."

The Agua Caliente Casino currently has 1,000 slot machines. Earlier this month voters approved Proposition 97 which allows the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians to operate an additional 3,000 slot machines. Plans for these new machines have not been announced.
