Indian Casino Proposed for Calexico

CALEXICO, CA - The Manzanita Band of Kumeyaay Indians want to build a casino on 60.8 acres on the northside of the City of Calexico. The site is at State Highway 111 and Jasper Road and is bounded on the south and west by the Central Main and Dogwood Canals.

  • 220,000-square-foot casino facility, including:
    90,000 square feet of gaming space
    120,000 square feet of food/beverage and retail components
    10,000 square feet of entertainment venue

  • 2,000 slot machines
  • 45 gaming tables
     
  • Hotel - 260 rooms
  • Restaurants - 3
  • 50,000-square-foot banquet/meeting hall
  • Swimming pool
  • Parking structure - 3,000 self-park spaces, 400 valet spaces

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has scheduled a public hearing to scope the issues for an environment study of the project.
