On Sunday the doors closed for the last time at Boulevard's La Posta Casino.

The casino was owned by the La Posta Band of Mission Indians. 349 slot machines were operated in the 20,000 square foot gaming facility.

The casino had opened in 2007. At that time, the casino had 60 employees. By the following year the number had jumped 100 employees. However in 2009, business at the casino began to slow. Operating hours had to change and the casino had to close in the late evening.

The official reason for the closure was due to financial reasons.
