The last steel beam was placed on the new five-story hotel tower on Friday at the Viejas Casino & Resort. A ceremony to celebrate the "topping off" was held for the progress. Fireworks were shot off at the moment the beam was in place.

The new hotel tower will have three restaurants, spa, and a salt water pool for adults. In the casino 500 new slot machines will be added.

The project is estimated to be complete in six months.

The hotel will be for adult guests, 21 and older. It will be a different resort inside the current resort. The experience will be more of a luxury boutique hotel. Every guest room is a suite. In total there will be 158 rooms. The tower will also have a separate check-in and room service.

The spa will offer nine treatment rooms that are both indoors and out.

A pan-Asian restaurant will feature indoor and outdoor seating. There will be seating for 130 guests. A signature restaurant with 250 seats will also be added that will have a cooking display area and a lounge. Also a gourmet coffee cafe.

The new outdoor concert venue has been expanded as well. The new area is three times larger than before. It can hold 3,000 guests for general admission standing room. The concert series will begin again on July 03 with Martina McBride performing.

The Viejas Casino & Resort is the only Forbes 4-Star and AAA 4-Diamond property in San Diego.
