New First Nations casino will be near Brandon

October 31, 2008

BRANDON, MB – The provincial government and the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs have chosen a site just north of Brandon to build a new casino. The location is the Rural Municipality of Elton, north of the Trans-Canada Highway and on the west side of Highway 10.

The casino was originally planned closer to the Wheat City, but was rejected by voters last year. This new location will become the third First Nations casino in Manitoba.

The land will be converted into reserve status, and the casino revenues will benefit all 64 Manitoba First Nations.
