Mohegan Sun’s new Casino of the Wind |

August 25, 2008 UNCASVILLE, CT – Mohegan Sun is nearing the completion of its Casino of the Wind located next to its Casino of the Sky. This is part of a $470 million expansion project which will include a 38-story hotel with 1,000 guest rooms. A soft opening of the Casino of the Wind is scheduled for August 29th. The grand opening celebration will be in October, although the date has not been announced. ![]() The Casino of the Wind features a 45,000 square-foot gaming floor with 964 slot machines, 26 gaming tables, and a 42-table poker room. There is also a 16,000 square-foot Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant and retail outlet, and a Chief’s Deli quick service food outlet. The new poker room will offer Texas hold ’em at limits ranging from $2-$4 to $40-$80. No-limit Hold ’em will range from $1-$2 and $2-$5 all the way up to $25-$50 or $50-$100, depending on player demand. There will also be Omaha/8, 7-card stud, razz and pineapple.
