Mohegan Sun casinos reported slightly higher revenue for the fourth-quarter. The
86 percent increase in profits were due to reducing expenses and adding
additional popular table games.
The fourth-quarter ended on September 30. $339.4 million was the reported amount
of revenue earned. The same time last year the amount was $336.9 million. The
net income was $36.5 million. Previously it was $19.6 million.
The casinos are operated by the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority. The tribe owns
casinos in Uncasville, Connecticut, and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
There has been a decline of slot machine activities equaling lower slot revenue.
It was down 1.2 percent from last year at $207 million. However, there was a 2.3
increase from last year for table games with a total revenue of $87.4 million.
The Mohegan tribe is currently looking to develop a casino with at Foxwoods
Resorts. The project would be competition for the MGM casino being built in
