Illinois Senate Approves New Casinos – House Votes NextSeptember 23, 2007 SPRINGFIELD – The state senate voted 37-15 to license three new casinos and allow existing casinos to expand. Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Senate leaders agreed the revenues would pay for a $13 billion state construction program. The bill will now go to the state house which has rejected similar plans in the past.
