Hoosier Park opens new casino |

June 2, 2006 ANDERSON, IN - The Hoosier Park horse track held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to officially open its new casino, and a long line a patrons began filing into the 93,000 square-foot facility. An estimated 3 million patrons are expected to visit in the first year. Indiana Downs hopes to open its 70,000-square-foot casino next week. It is a temporary structure that will be replaced by a 270,000 square-foot permanent casino next year. Both Hoosier Park and Indiana Downs are licensed for 2,000 slot machines each after paying a fee of $250 million to the state. Return to Indiana Casinos. |
