Horseshoe Casino Grand OpeningAugust 14, 2008HAMMOND, IN - Horseshoe Casino held the grand opening of its all-new 500 million-dollar casino on August 8th and continued the celebration throughout the weekend. On Friday Bette Midler opened The Venue, the new 3,500 seat entertainment facility. Josh Kelley began his national tour and performed at the Skyline Stage. On Saturday The Venue hosted The Smashing Pumpkins. Harrah's Regional President and GM, Rick Mazer, commented, "It all came together so nicely and we are so excited this day has arrived.
