Mississippi Belle II closes downJune 23, 2008CLINTON, IA – The Mississippi Belle II riverboat casino ended its operations yesterday morning when it closed down at 4 a.m.. The era of riverboat gambling in Clinton has ended. The gaming equipment will be removed from the riverboat and reinstalled at the Wild Rose Casino & Resort at U.S. 30 and Mill Creek Parkway on the west side of Clinton. A grand opening for the Wild Rose Casino is scheduled for the weekend of July 18th to 20th. Afterwards the Mississippi Belle II will join the Celebration Cruises in Moline to be refurbished for use as a dinner cruise boat. Return to Iowa Casinos. |
