October 1, 2008 PORTLAND, Maine - Officials of the Olympia Group unveiled their plans for a $150 million casino resort in Oxford County. Olympia has been seeking a location for the resort and says it is close to a deal on a 25-acre site. An announced is expected late next week. The project will have the theme of an old New England village. It will be built in two phases and feature the following: CASINO 100,000 square feet Slot machines - up to 1,500 Table games - number to be determined HOTEL 300 rooms Conference center - 30,000 square feet Spa Restaurants - 3 Swimming pools - indoors & outdoors GOLF COURSE Later phase A statewide referendum on November 4th will decide whether the project goes forward.
