FireKeepers Casino completes 2,078 parking-space structure

March 24, 2009

BATTLE CREEK - FireKeepers Casino announced today the completion of a five-story parking structure with 2,078 spaces. The garage is attached to the casino for easy access.

The 650,000 square feet garage was constructed with 1,463 pre-cast concrete panels. The last pre-cast panel was signed by the Tribal Council of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Indians and construction workers before it was set into place, completing the construction of the parking garage.

“The parking garage is only one visible component of FireKeepers'
commitment to a positive guest experience. It offers a clean, well lit atmosphere and an elevator for our guest convenience and is directly connected to the casino via a climate controlled skywalk,” said R. Bruce McKee, General Manager of the FireKeepers Casino.

“The Tribe is pleased with the progress made by our construction and design team keeping FireKeepers Casino on schedule for a Summer 2009 opening. At this point, 60 percent of the project is complete and we will begin focusing on the interior finishes,” said Laura W. Spurr, Tribal Chair of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi.

FireKeepers Casino will feature 2,500 slot machines, 90 table games, a live poker room, and five restaurants.
