The Oneida Nation lawsuit to stop the $425 million Tyre casino was dismissed on
Friday.
The casino project was sued by the tribe because they believe that the casino
would be in competition with the tribe's two New York casinos.
The tribe claimed that the state gaming commission violated the state gaming
laws when they appointed a casino license to the del Lago Resort & Casino. The
tribe was ruled against by Supreme Court Justice Vincent Reilly.
A decline in revenue from the increased competition from the new casino was the
reason behind the tribe's lawsuit. The judge ruled that possible loss of revenue
is not enough of a reason to cause a legal burden.
The del Lago Resort & Casino is scheduled to open in February 2017.
Return to New York Casinos.
