Plans for a second casino are underway for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

A ceremony was held on October 15 by leaders of the tribe for the new casino.

It will be located in the western North Carolina mountains. This is an hour from the original casino, Harrah's Cherokee resort. Two hours from the major cities of Chattanooga, Knoxville, and downtown Atlanta.

Caesars Entertainment is the casino brand that will be the operators of the Cherokee County casino.

A new bridge and other transportation improvements are also planned to help guests visit the casino. These improvements are being planned by the North Carolina Transportation Department

When completed the casino will be 60,000 square feet. It will operate table games and slot machines. There will also be a hotel and restaurants. When completed the project will cost $110 million.

900 new jobs will be created by the casino project. It is estimated that the jobs will earn in total $39 million for the area.
