Indian Casino Proposed for Warren CountyNovember 16, 2007Indian Casino Proposed for Warren County The Eastern Shawnee Tribe is working with the Monroe City Council to determine its best options for building an Indian casino in Monroe. In 2005 a ballot measure was approved by local voters to share revenues with a Shawnee casino built near Corridor 75 Park. The tribe is now seeking to change the agreement to a different location in Warren County where they have an option in Turtle Creek Township to purchase 123 acres. When the location is settled, there remains a long road towards building the casino. Both the federal and the state governments must review and grant approval. Return to Ohio Casinos. |
