MyOhioNow.com Clarifies Indian Casino Tax Impact

September 2, 2008

OHIO - Opponents to the November casino measure claimed last month that an Indian casino would exempt any taxes paid if the MyOhioNow.com proposal passed.
They claimed the proposed casino would pay the same tax rate as a second Ohio casino, and since an Ohio Indian casino would pay no taxes, the proposed casino could end up paying no taxes to the state, counties, or local governments.

Therefore, MyOhioNow.com issued a statement last week to clarify the issue. MyOhioNow.com would pay thirty percent in taxes or the same rate of another casino that was built, but no less than twenty five percent regardless if an Indian casino is built.
