3 a controversial proposal to build a casino in southwest ohio - - has the opposition getting ready for a fight. they kicked off their campaign today.statehouse reporter emily riemer tells us what they have planned. emily? 3 these gambling opponents say they're shocked to be talking about this issue.so soon after voters shot down a proposed gambling expansion two years ago.they call this latest casino proposal "the worst one so far." far."the american policy roundtable kicked off their "vote no to casinos" campaign this morning in downtown columbus.franklin county commissioner paula brooks and - reverend john edgar joined the anti-gambling group.they plan to air commercials over the summer and into the fall - -to get their message out.starting with this pamphlet - - that they say debunks some of the promises made by the group behind the casino plan.one of the biggest myths, they say, is that money spent gambling will come back to your communities. 3 "did the lottery solve our school funding dilemma, no. are we still grappling with that? we should not be fooled, good government and gambling don't mix." 3 myohionow dot com, the group behind the idea, says central ohio could cash in big.they say our area would receive 30 million dollars a year in casino tax revenue.and franklin county takes the biggest share of that - at 20 million dollars. dollars.the group is now collecting signatures to put the proposal on your ballot in november. and they're not the only ones.coming up at six, more on who needs your help to get their issue on the ballot. i'm emily riemer, abc 6 on your side. 3
