Thistledown horse racing track to receive $160 million for renovations and slots

On Wednesday, the state gave approval for Thistledown horse racing track to
receive money to add slot gaming machines from financial baking by Rock Ohio

With the addition of the gaming machines, the horse race track will operate
similar to the state's first racino Scioto Downs. That is located in in central
$160 million will be financed. This was approved by the Ohio Casino Control
Commission. The money will go the North Randall horse racing track renovations.
The money will also be used on the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The hotel was purchased
by Rock Ohio last year for $36.5 million.
Plans for Thistledown include adding 1,150 video gaming machines.
Horseshoe Casino Cleveland opened in May of this year. The casino is also owned
by Rock Ohio.
