Cherokee Casinos’ employees donate 40,000 items to troopsCATOOSA, OK - Employees of Cherokee Casinos have donated 40,000 items to be packaged and shipped next week to troops serving in Iraq with Oklahoma's 45th Infantry Brigade. "Last year, we were able to collect hundreds of boxes of supplies for our troops stationed overseas," said David Stewart, CEO of Cherokee Nation Enterprises, which operates Cherokee Casinos. "This year, we decided to add a little friendly competition between departments to see who could bring in the most supplies. It prompted a staggering response from our employees. The troop supply drive solicited supplies such as personal hygiene products, drink mixes, printed materials, CDs, DVDs, AA batteries, sunglasses, snack foods, games, mosquito repellent coils, dental care products, and correspondence supplies. Last year Cherokee Casinos contributed $35,000 to bring 466 Oklahoma troops home for the holidays. Return to Oklahoma Casinos home page. |
