WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, OK - The doors at the new Cherokee Casino in West Siloam Springs finally opened this afternoon, and crowds entered the 200, 000-plus-square-foot gaming area.  The new casino replaces the old Cherokee casino which began in West Siloam Springs on April 17, 1993, as a bingo hall.  A second phase will demolish the old casino and add a spacious food court and an 8-story, resort-style hotel.

Cherokee Casinos operates six other Oklahoma casinos in Tulsa, Roland, Tahlequah, Fort Gibson, Sallisaw and at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore. Each of the Cherokee Casinos is designed to tell a piece of Cherokee history. The West Siloam Springs facility incorporates Cherokee history from the late 1700s to the early 1800s emphasizing water with its waterfall, trees with its towering lumber, and elaborate stonework.
