Cherokee Nation Plan to Break Ground On New Casino in May

Construction on a new Cherokee Nation casino is being planned. The
groundbreaking has been scheduled for May. The project will change the tribe's
current casino located in Roland into a new casino and hotel.
When completed, the casino will be 87,000 square feet. The casino will operate
850 games. As of now, the current casino only operates 600 gaming machines.
Other plans include, a bar and an entertainment area.
There will also be a hotel that will be six stories tall. The hotel will have
125 guest rooms.
The current facility will be removed to make room for the new casino hotel. It
will be located State Highway 64 and Interstate 40.
