PRESS RELEASE

August 03, 2010

LAC DU FLAMBEAU, WI --  Lake of the Torches Resort Casino's marketing team led by Michael J. Broderick received a record seven Romero Awards (including two highly coveted Diamond Awards) and two honorable mentions on Wednesday, July 20, during the 2010 Casino Marketing conference at the Paris Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Romero Awards honor the most significant achievements in casino marketing and promotions in the gaming industry. The conference is co-produced by Raving Consulting and BNP Media.
On behalf of Lake of the Torches, Broderick accepted two Diamond Awards, three Gold Awards, two Silver Awards and two honorable mentions. The casino marketing awards are given to top gaming facilities for their innovation, creativity, originality, and implementation of their marketing efforts during the previous year. In addition, no other mid-sized casino had taken home as many awards in previous years, and Lake of the Torches received more trophies than any other casino at this year's award ceremony. The awards are named after John Romero, a casino marketing pioneer and author, and are considered the standard for excellence in casino marketing.

"Once again, we are very honored and pleased to receive top recognition from our peers in the global gaming industry," said Lake of the Torches' Chief Executive Officer Bill Guelcher. "These awards place us amongst the best properties in terms of providing innovative casino promotions and events to our guests who visit us from across the region, and we will continue to provide a top quality gaming and entertainment experience to all of our guests in the future. We especially would like to recognize our marketing team led by Michael, but in addition we would like to commend the entire Lake of the Torches' staff and management who make this tremendous accomplishment possible."

The judging criteria included marketing or promotion concepts; strategic rationale and execution; casino revenue and other measurable results; the competitive advantage provided to the casino; and the relationship of the promotion to the casino's customers, employees and to the community.

"For several years now, Michael Broderick and his marketing team at Lake of the Torches have been known to attendees of Casino Marketing and to the judges of the Romero contest for the creativity and effectiveness of their work. With this year's record result, it's clear that they continue to raise the bar of marketing excellence not only for themselves, but for the broader industry as a whole," said Charles Anderer, Group Publisher, BNP Media Gaming. BNP Media Gaming Group is the world's largest and most experienced gaming industry media resource and the leading producer of trade magazines, specialized conference and expos, Web sites, e-newsletters and targeted specialty publications serving the gaming industry worldwide.
