A ribbon cutting is scheduled to take place o October 14. The event will celebrate the completion of the $30 million Shoshone Rose Casino & Hotel expansion.

The casino hotel is located near Lander, Wyoming and owned by the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.

The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m.

In 2007 the casino first opened. At that time it was a gaming venue only. It offered 300 slot machines, table games, and video poker. The gaming floor was 7,000 square-feet.

The expansion has added more gaming tables and now has over 400 slots. Outdoor dining has also been added.

The hotel has 61 rooms. Of those, six of them are suites with two rooms. There will also be a patio with a fire pit and an indoor pool.

A $335,000 grant was given to the tribe from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The money will be used to for the casino surveillance system to be upgraded.

In September of last year the construction on the expansion began. The project created 100 construction jobs. Up to 50 permanent jobs have also been created.
