The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria are planning a casino, hotel, restaurant, spa, and entertainment complex in Rohnert Park west of Highway 101. The Petaluma Argus-Courier reported today an advisory measure is being drafted for voters to cast their preference for or against the construction of the $450 million project.
If the casino is built, Rohnert Park will receive a one-time payment of $18M for roads and annual payments of $5M for general funds and $4M for municipal charities.
If the casino measure is approved by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, it will be placed on the 2008 Sonoma County ballot. The measure could also be added through a petition drive
