WILLITS, CA - The Sherwood Rancheria wants to build a 35,000-square-foot Indian
casino on a knoll above Cropley near the Willits, California. Their plans for
this Little Lake Valley casino is approaching a milestone when an environmental
assessment for the project is published next week. The report known as a Tribal
Environmental Impact Statement will be available to review online at
Last month the tribe held a scoping meeting with city and county officials and
members of the public to decide which issues should be included in the report.
Key concerns were water and sewer services, traffic, emergency services, and air
quality. These issues plus comments submitted prior to January 14th are to be
addressed in this environmental report.
When published the public will have 45 days to review it and submit their
