The Granton Resort and Casino is set to open later this year. The location is closer to San Francisco than other casinos of the same size. This has local casino operators wondering what will happen to their business when the casino opens.

Due to open at 10AM on November 5, the casino will offer a total of 144 game tables. There will also be 3,000 electronic video and slot machines. In addition, dining options that include a celebrity chef Martin Yan and a concert venue.

Located off the 101 in Rohnert Park, the Graton Resort and Casino will cost $800 million to complete. It will offer Vegas style gaming. Many visitors from the bay area travel further to visit the casinos than where the Granton will be operating.

Some believe that only smaller casinos will be affected and not the larger ones. Others believe that traffic to the new casino may be too difficult. Visitors will choose to visit a casino that is easier to get to. All agree that it is too soon to make a judgment call on what will happen to their business.
