Southern California poker players will have more opportunities to win extra cash
at Pala Casino Spa and Resort in June when the Poker Room will host the $100,000
River Card Quest for the Cup Mega tournament starting Saturday, June 18, through
Sunday, June 26.
Pala Poker also will continue its popular Thursday Deep Stack Turbo and Friday
Night 2K tournaments and ongoing popular promotions that include the Sunday $100
High Hand, which will be in play every half hour from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; the
Cash Prize Wheel, which will be in play every day and will award up to $200 for
any quads or higher; $100 Hourly High Hand from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays and
Wednesdays, except June 29, when hours of play will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the
Thursday High Hand and Flush Marathon, with no rollover, which will be in play
from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the Limit and No Limit from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the
Chase for the Dough and the Limit Flush Marathon from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday
and Friday for 3-6-9 limit and above. Chase for the Dough will be in play from
Midnight, June 1, until Midnight, June 30, with a $10,000 prize pool. Players
win by accumulating live-play hours. Forty hours wins $60; 60 hours gets $200
and 80 hours, $400. When players cash out, hours return to zero.
The $100,000 River Card Quest for the Cup Mega will have a $200 + $35 buy-in for
each of five qualifying days. There will be an optional $15 staff bonus buy and
chips will be $13,000/$4,000 each day. Tournament participants must play in a
qualifying round and 10 percent or level 17 of each day's players will advance
to the Day 2 championship. Re-entries will be to seven levels and blinds will be
30 minutes. All winners will receive prize money at the conclusion of Day 2
action. The schedule includes:
Day 1A - 2:15 p.m., Saturday, June 18
Day 1B - 2:15 p.m., Sunday, June 19
Day 1C - 2:15 p.m., Thursday, June 23
Day 1D - 2:15 p.m., Friday, June 24
Day 1E - 2:15 p.m., Saturday, June 25
Day 2 (Final) - 3 p.m., Sunday, June 26
Continuing regular tournaments:
Thursday Deep Stack Turbo: 7:15 p.m.; the buy-in will be $45+$10 with a $1,200
guarantee and a $10 optional staff buy. Chips will $20,000/$5,000 and there will
be $10 bounties. But, this tournament will not be played June 23.
Friday Night 2K: 7:15 p.m.; the buy-in will be $35+$5 with a $2,000 guarantee
and a $5 optional staff buy. Chips will be $4,000/$2,000. Late and re-entries
will be allowed to three levels with a full stack. This tournament will not be
played June 24.
