The $285 million expansion project at the Pechanga Resort & Casino is nearly half complete. On Wednesday a "topping off" ceromoney was held to celebrate the progress.
Attending the event were local officials, members of the Pechanga tribe, employees, and the media.
The expansion includes a new hotel tower and a separate building for a spa. The additional hotel tower will nearly double what is currently offered. The spa will offer 17 treatment rooms. Plus a hydrotherapy pool terrace, gym, and two restaurants.
When finished the casino resort will offer 1,100 guest rooms and suites, 13 restaurants, a pool that is 4 1/2 acres, and a larger casino gaming floor.
The hotel tower and spa are expected to be completed the end of this year. The pool will open early next year.
