Cache Creek Casino Resort has started the new expansion project of the hotel.

The project will add up to 459 new guest rooms. More meeting rooms, an event ballroom, a pool, and a new restaurant will also be added.

The ceremony for the start of the construction took place in the south parking lot. This is the location of the new building. Where the original casino and bingo hall were located.

500 new construction jobs will be created by the project. It is expected to take close to 2 years for construction to be complete. After that time 200 additional people will need to be hired to fill positions in hospitality.

The casino originally opened in 2004. Since that time it has struggled with providing enough rooms for visitors that would prefer to stay overnight.

The cost of the expansion is nearly $200 million. The building is estimated to be opened by the end of 2018.
