BLACKFOOT, ID - The Shoshone-Bannock tribes broke ground for
their new satellite casino in Blackfoot off I-15 at Exit 89. Construction is
expected to be completed in September.
The casino will feature 80-100 slot machines, a café, a smoke shop, and a convenience store. The facility is intended to attract truckers and nearby residents.
The tribe is also planning a casino resort in Fort Hall at Exit 80. Construction will begin in 2009 and take a year and a half to complete. The $100 million project includes a casino with 1200 slot machines, a hotel with 200 rooms, a fine dining restaurant, a golf course and a water park.
