Henrietta community members recently voted in a poll. The results of the poll were not favorable for a development of a casino in the area.
The Seneca Nation has purchased land as a location for a future casino in the city.
The No More Casinos coalition was behind the poll. Over half of the residents that participated in the poll answered being opposed to the casino. The poll also reported that residents believe a casino could impact their lives in a negative way.
On Wednesday, Henrietta will be holding a community meeting. Jack Moore, the Town Supervisor, will be speaking. It is possible that he will be announcing a plan to keep the tribe from developing a Henrietta casino. Moore has announced his opposition to the casino in the past.
