Last week, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan met with representatives from the
Chickasaw Nation. The tribe is based in Oklahoma and is interested in operating
a proposed casino in New York, E23.
The Chickasaw Nation own Global Gaming Solutions. Currently the company operates
five casinos. The casinos are located in Oklahoma and Texas.
The group is working with Flaum Management. Together, they hope to develop a
casino resort that would cost $300 to $400 million to complete.
However, it has not been voted on as of yet by the Albany Common Council. The
vote by the council will be needed so that the proposed location of the casino
can be approved. It has not been made public when the vote will occur.
However, June 30 is when all interested casino developers must submit their
applications.
Return to New York Casinos.
