Hudson Valley has be granted approval from local officials to develop two
casinos. Applications for proposed casinos are still being accepted until next
week.
On Wednesday, the Town of Woodbury voted to support Caesars Entertainment in
their bid to develop a casino in Orange County. The proposed location would be
an hour from Manhattan.
Also on Wednesday, Tuxedo's town board also voted in support of Resorts World
Orange County.
Four casino licenses are available. Developers that are interested in obtaining
those licenses must have approval from the community where the casino would be
built.
Monday is the last day applications may be submitted.
It is estimated that over a dozen development groups plan to submit an
application.
