HINTON, Okla. - The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes opened their first casino
yesterday afternoon in a former car dealership surrounded by metal buildings. It
is located on a five-acre tract about 300 yards south of Interstate 40 and
features 400 slot machines
The tribe originally hoped to open a casino on its property in Anadarko, but
felt that location would have too much competition from the Western Delaware's
Gold River Casino and the Apache Tribe's Silver Buffalo Casino.
The nearest casino to Hinton is the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribe's Lucky Star Casino
in nearby El Reno.
