A celebration was held yesterday for the phase II competition of the expansion project at ShouthWind Casino in Braman.

301 new slot machines were added. Gaming denominations start at a penny. Jackpots are up to $80,000.

Members of the Kaw Nation Council and Board attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The expansion will help the tribe reach their goal of earning higher revenues at the casino.

47 additional jobs have also be created by the expansion.

10,000 square feet was added to the current casino. A new restaurant is located in the new space named 231 Bistro & Bar. The 16 seat dining venue will be open around the clock.

A hotel resort is planned for the future.

Celebration for the grand opening will take place until Saturday. At 8 p.m. every night there will be a drawing for $5,000.

SouthWind Casinos are owned by the Kaw Nation. There are three casino locations. They are located in Braman, Newkirk, and Kanza.
