Wildhorse Resort & Casino will be undergoing an expansion project.
Plans include a second hotel tower that will be 11 stories tall. Five new dining
options. The movie theater will have four more screens. Plus a bowling ally with
32 lanes.
It is estimated to be completed by the middle of 2020.
The Board of Trustees for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian
Reservation approved the project on June 05. The cost will be near $85 million
to complete.
100 new jobs will be created by the project.
The new hotel tower will add another 115 guest rooms to the resort. When
finished, there will be a total of 416 rooms.
When the local bowling alley closed, the idea of adding one to Wildhorse came to
be. The bowling alley is expected to draw large tournaments to the casino
resort. There will be two sets of 16 lanes. Both leagues and the public will be
able to play during the week.
A food court will be the location of three of the new restaurants. Another
restaurant will serve the movie theater and the bowling alley. The fifth dining
venue will a sit down restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It will
also have views of the new swimming pool.
To meet the need of additional movie showings, four new screens will be added.
There will be close to 120 seats in each.
As far as the casino, 300 more slot machines will be added. This will bring the
amount of machines in operation to 1,500. There will also be 6 more table games
added. When done there will be 20 table games available.
This will be the fifth renovation the casino has undergone.

One more development will the creation of a new parking garage. It will be
located near the movie theater on land where pow wows are held. The design will
complement the design of the other buildings and not stand out.
Construction could start next year. It is estimated to have all phases completed
by 2020.
