The proposed Kenosha casino has been given approval by the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The casino will be built off of tribal land.

The proposal will now be sent to Gov. Scott Walker for final approval. The governor's approval is needed before the proposed casino can continue with plans.

The Menominee Nation is the tribe that will be the owners of the casino They have been pursuing a casino in Kenosha since the 1990's.

The proposed casino is opposed by the Potawatomi tribe. They believe that the Kenosha casino is too close to their casino located in Milwaukee. The competition may hurt their business.

A news conference will be held on Friday by the Menominee Nation. This is the tribe that will be the owners of the casino. The conference is scheduled to take place in the evening in Milwaukee.
