The Sac & Fox Tribe recognizes the challenges and business opportunities of the cannabis industry. In 2020 the tribe submitted a plan to the U.S. Department of agriculture for growing hemp on its reservation. Federal approval was granted in April 2020. Details
Hemp is a variety of Cannabis plant grown for industrial use.

The Sac and Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa opened its Meskwaki Organix Store Nov 13 inside the Meskwaki Travel Plaza at 1494 Highway 30 in Tama, Iowa. The hours are 11am-6pm everyday.
The Meskwaki Organix Store is the first CBD dispensary to open on tribal land in Iowa. The products will also be distributed through Big River Trading Company, the wholesale division of the Sac and Fox Tribe.
