Hard Rock Sacramento Plans Largest Casino Expansion Project in US

HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO SACRAMENTO AT FIRE MOUNTAIN

The nation's largest casino resort expansion project is currently in the final planning stages at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain.

This will be $2-$4 billion construction project to build a massive entertainment district on 350 acres of undeveloped land between the Hard Rock casino and the Toyota Amphitheatre. The site is located on Forty Mile Road near Highway 65.

CONSTRUCTION PHASES AND TIMELINE
The construction timeline will begin in 2026-2027 and extend in multiple phases over the next five-ten years.

Pre-Construction

• Land Acquisition Finalized: Q4 2024 - Q1 2025
• Planning, Due Diligence, and Partner Outreach: 2024-2025
• Zoning and Regulatory Approvals: 2025-2026

Phase 1
Entertainment Promenade (2026-2028)
This will be an entertainment district and lifestyle promenade with retail shops representing national brands and local boutique stores, restaurants with international cuisines, celebrity chefs and farm-to-table venues, entertainment stages for live music, plazas for festivals and special events, and art experiences like dancing fountains and Hard Rock memorabilia walls.

Phase 2
Sports, Recreation and Hotel (2028-2032)
The second phase will add indoor and outdoor sports facilities and possibly a sports stadium, along with a large water park with lazy river, wave pool and slides, a new hotel and convention center.

Phase 3
Agricultural Fairgrounds and Education Zone (2032-2035)
The fairgrounds will host rodeos, livestock shows, festivals, farmer markets, u-pick orchards, educational programs and agricultural tradeshows.

Future
Enhancements (2035+)
Regional growth and market demand is expected to bring ongoing enhancements and new additions to future expansion of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain.

Hard Rock Sacramento opens sports bar ready for future betting

A new Hard Rock Sports Bar is now open at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain and is designed to be ready for active sports betting when legalized in California.

Hard Rock Sports Bar is open from 6 AM to 2 AM daily and features a video wall displaying 20 sporting events and a 24/7 ticker tape with the latest scores. The bar has bar-top games and serves craft cocktails, draft beers, and a menu with game-day favorites.

Construction of a $3 million sports bar is underway at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain. The new venue will open this Fall as a place for fans to watch sports without sports betting.

Hard Rock Sacramento | $2B-$4B Entertainment District Plan

This month Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain announced a long-term master plan to build a $2-to-$4 billion entertainment district next door to the casino. The 350-acre project will feature live concerts, sports, dining, retail, and agricultural facilities.

Hard Rock Sacramento President Mark Birtha described the project as "an unprecedented expansion of lifestyle, sports, and entertainment amenities."

The master plan envisions three initial zones:

Entertainment
A promenade will feature outdoor retail and dining along with festivals and entertainment.

Sports
Indoor and outdoor sports facilities will seek college or professional games as well as rodeos.

Hospitality
Hotels, convention space, and a water park are in the plan.

Construction of this project will begin next year and continue for at least a decade.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento | 5-Year Expansion Plan

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain is currently in the master-planning stage for a huge facility expansion, which will include the recently purchased 350 acres located next to the casino.

The 350 acres is zoned for sports-entertainment development and is located near Highway 65 on Forty Mile Road between the casino and the Toyota Amphitheater.

Although the plans are not finalized and details have not been released, recent news from Hard Rock Sacramento reveals the expansion project will be multi-phased over the next five years.

The final plan is expected to include these features:

Entertainment District
Various opportunities are under consideration for utilizing the 350 adjacent acres. These include an entertainment district and festival area, a retail destination for indoor-outdoor lifestyles, premium retail outlets, and a rodeo stadium.

Future Developments
Other expansion projects under consideration include more hotel rooms, meeting space, indoor water park, gaming space, restaurants, and retail shops.

The Hard Rock brand is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain is owned by the Estom Yumeka Maidu Tribe of the Enterprise Rancheria.
