North Fork Mono Casino Enters October Without Opening Date as Court Challenge Continues

MADERA, Calif. - Oct. 1, 2026 - October has arrived, but an opening date for North Fork Mono Casino & Resort has not.
The long-awaited tribal casino along Highway 99 in Madera County continues to advertise "OPENING OCTOBER" while preparations move forward and a federal legal challenge remains unresolved. The casino has also extended its pre-opening Rewards signup through Oct. 18, adding a new milestone to the final countdown.

The casino is inviting customers to visit its South Parking Lot daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to obtain a free Rewards Card before opening day.
Its website identifies the Oct. 18 extension as "NEW EXTENDED DATES" and says "the countdown to opening is on."
A new Drive Up Sign Up Extended YouTube video also promotes the extension through Oct. 18 and describes the registration opportunity as taking place before the casino opens.
The extension, however, does not establish an opening date. The casino continues to advertise only an October opening.
Court challenge continues
Meanwhile, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians continues its federal challenge involving the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians casino project.
The lawsuit seeks to stop gaming at the Madera site and challenges federal actions that allowed the project to move forward following years of litigation over its gaming eligibility.
Recent reporting continued to describe North Fork Mono Casino & Resort as slated for an October opening while the legal battle proceeds.
October opening still on target
Located along Highway 99 just north of Madera, North Fork Mono Casino & Resort is expected to feature more than 2,400 slot machines, 40 table games and eight dining options.
With October now underway, two questions remain: When will North Fork announce its opening day, and will the federal court intervene before the doors open?
For now, the casino's public message remains unchanged: opening in October.
