Choctaw Casino Durant Expands Smoke-Free Gaming With Grand Casino Upgrade

DURANT, OK - Choctaw Casino & Resort-Durant has completed a major Grand Casino upgrade, creating the largest non-smoking gaming floor in the United States. The expansion strengthens the resort's smoke-free offerings and reflects the Choctaw Nation's continued investment in guest comfort and modern amenities.

Largest Non-Smoking Gaming Floor in the U.S.

The Grand Casino renovation was completed in multiple phases throughout 2026. Each phase converted additional gaming areas to non-smoking and refreshed the layout with new lighting, carpeting, and improved walkways. The combined Grand Casino and Sky Tower now offer a fully smoke-free gaming footprint with approximately 5,400 slot machines and 82 table games.

Upgraded Guest Experience

The redesigned Grand Casino connects more smoothly to restaurants, meeting spaces, and the Choctaw Grand Theater. Resort officials say the upgrades were guided by guest feedback and a growing demand for smoke-free casino environments.

"The updates to the Grand Casino not only elevate the look and feel of the area, but also enhance the environment for our guests," said Jeff Penz, Senior Director of Gaming & Hospitality.

Smoking Options Remain Available

Choctaw Casino & Resort-Durant continues to offer smoking accommodations through the Link Casino, located between the Grand Casino and Sky Casino. The Link Casino includes roughly 1,700 slot machines, 22 table games, a high-limit area, and access to an outdoor smoking veranda.

Part of a National Shift

The expansion comes as casino smoking policies receive renewed attention across the country. Tribal and commercial operators are evaluating guest preferences, worker health concerns, and competitive pressures as more properties expand smoke-free gaming
