New details are emerging about the design of the upcoming Naskila Casino Resort, and they confirm what early reports hinted: the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe is building a polished, Las Vegas-inspired destination unlike anything previously seen in Texas. While the Tribe has released limited information publicly, the architectural program and renderings presented at the June groundbreaking offer a clear picture of the resort's upscale look and modern design direction.
The 685,000-square-foot project is being designed by JCJ Architecture, the nationally recognized firm behindFoxwoods Resort Casino, Mohegan Sun expansions, and several of the largest tribal gaming properties in the country.Their signature style-contemporary lines, glass-forward facades, warm interior palettes, and resort-class amenities-is evidentthroughout the Naskila plans.

Early renderings show a sleek, multi-story hotel tower, a landscaped arrival plaza, and a modern exterior that leans more toward polished tribal-resort architecture than themed Las Vegas spectacle. Inside, the resort will feature approximately 3,400 electronic bingo machines, a 1,000-seat ballroom, 35,000 square feet of event space, multiple restaurants, bars, lounges, and a resort-style pool complex.
While Texas law limits tribal gaming to bingo-based machines, the overall guest experience is being designed to mirror the feel of a full-scale casino resort. The layout includes high-limit areas, non-smoking zones, and VIP-style spaces commonly found in larger destination casinos. The Dallas Morning News recently described the project as having "Las Vegas glitz," a phrase that reflects the resort's upscale design rather than neon-heavy theming.
The look is closer to modern tribal resorts such as Foxwoods' Grand Pequot Tower or Mohegan Sun's Earth Tower-polished, contemporary, and built for multi-day stays. With construction underway and a temporary casino opening later this summer, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe is positioning Naskila Casino Resort as a major new entertainment destination for East Texas.
Only one official exterior rendering has been released publicly so far, with additional interior and amenity visuals shown only at the June groundbreaking event. More detailed design materials are expected to be released as the project moves toward its anticipated 2027 opening, including full interior views of the gaming floor, lobby, restaurants, and pool complex.
For the Tribe, the resort represents both an economic development milestone and a statement of design intent: that a bingo-based property in Texas can still deliver a high-end, resort-style experience on par with major tribal casinos across the country. As more renderings and construction updates are released, Naskila Casino Resort is likely to become one of the most closely watched tribal gaming projects in the region.
