Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am-meaning 'Three Suns' in the Yaqui language-will officially open on November 15, 2027, bringing a new era of Pascua Yaqui gaming and entertainment to Tucson's southwest side. The new casino will expand the Tribe's award-winning Casino Del Sol enterprise with a modern gaming floor, new dining concepts, and a cultural design theme centered on the Three Suns creation story.

Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am is the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's newest gaming and entertainment destination, located just minutes from the Tribe's flagship Casino Del Sol Resort. The project blends contemporary architecture with cultural symbolism, honoring the Three Suns narrative that inspires the property's name and visual identity.

When it opens on Nov. 15, 2027, Vahi Taa'am will introduce a new gaming experience to Tucson with a modern casino floor, expanded food and beverage options, and a design that reflects the Tribe's heritage and connection to the land.

Rendering Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am

Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am is located near the Tribe's historical home of Old Pascua ("Pascua Village"). In 2021 Congress passed The Old Pascua Community Land Acquisition Act (H.R. 4881), which allowed the land and community of Old Pascua to be taken into federal trust. The transfer grants tribal sovereignty to the land.

Location
The casino is located at 1055 W. Grant Road, just off Interstate 10 and adjacent to Old Pascua. The site was formerly home to the Century Park 16 movie theater, which was demolished and cleared for construction in March 2023.

Timeline
Construction is scheduled for two phases. Phase 1 will be the construction of the casino including the restaurants, food court, bars, and a parking garage. The groundbreaking for the casino was Jan. 13, 2025. The casino construction is expected to take two years to complete with the grand opening celebrated in Nov. 2026. Phase 2 will follow with building a hotel, conference center, and another parking garage.

Casino Approvals
The Tucson casino has federal, state and local approvals to offer Class III slot machines and table games. In 2021, Governor Doug Ducey amended the state's gaming compact with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The new agreement allows development of the Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am on the Old Pascua land.

The new casino is the third casino owned by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The tribe owns two other casinos in the Tucson area, the Casino del Sol at 5655 West Valencia Road and the Casino of the Sun at 7406 S. Camino del Oeste.
