New Prescott casino project starts preliminary site work

May 28, 2021

Site preparation for the new Yavapai-Prescott casino in Prescott has begun. Soil testing and other preliminary work is underway at the construction site at the junction of Highway 69 and Yavpe Connector. The location is across the street from the Frontier Village Shopping Mall.

The new Prescott casino resort project was initially announced April 6, 2014. The groundbreaking was expected later in 2014. However, construction was postponed until now after the tribe signed a new gaming compact with the state last month that included the Prescott project and added sports betting to Arizona Indian casinos.

The 2014 announcement said the new casino would consolidate and replace Bucky's and the Yavapai Casino. All gaming machines would be moved to the new casino. This statement was not been recently reconfirmed.
