WinnaVegas Casino is celebrating its 30th anniversary throughout the month of April. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last Friday along with brief presentations and free refreshments to kickoff the event. The big promotion this month is a chance to win $500,000 in the Press for Cash contest.

WinnaVegas Casino reopens June 12th

June 10, 2020

WinnaVegas Casino Resort will reopen at 10 AM Friday June 12. This will be a phased-in reopening with the first phase limiting the casino operation to 50% of capacity.

New hours of operation will be 10am to midnight daily. Some slot machines will be shut down for social distancing. There will be no smoking, no poker and no table games. Bingo sessions will have more distancing with less seating.

The hotel will only be open three nights a week. Guest may stay Thursday night through Sunday morning. The hotel will be closed Sunday through Wednesday nights.

The celebration included 2,000 singers and dancers from the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, Santee Sioux, Omaha, Mesquaki, Sac and Fox, Ponca, Ho-Chunk, Potawatomi, Oteo-Missouria and other tribes.

WinnaVegas wins "Best of Iowa" in readers survey

Last week Casino Player magazine announced the results of its 2019 reader survey of best casinos, and WinnaVegas Casino Resort was voted the number one casino in Iowa "Where You Feel the Luckiest" and voted number one "Favorite Casino Resort to Vacation At."

WinnaVegas was recognized in 19 different categories. It placed in the top hosts and dealers of Iowa casinos and in the "best of" categories for slots, blackjack, bingo and table game tournaments.

Michael Michaud, marketing director at WinnaVegas, said: "It's a nice little day trip. Our casino is a place where you are able to play for a long time, and feel lucky whether you're at your favorite slot machine or a dealer table."

WinnaVegas is located in Sloan, Iowa about 80 miles north of Omaha. It was opened in 1992 by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.
