Under the Rebuild Illinois Law enacted in June 2019 a new casino license is allocated for the Resort at Walker's Bluff in Williamson County, Illinois.

Walker's Bluff vineyard began in 2008 as an upscale steak & seafood restaurant with entertainment, a wine cave and general store.
In June 2019 Illinois enacted legislation to greatly expand gambling in the state for the purpose of economic growth. Within the legislation was the authorization to build new casinos in six different cities. One of those new casinos was designated for Walker's Bluff in Carterville, Illinois.
On Oct 18, 2019 the Williamson County Board approved the Walker's Bluff casino plan for submission to the Illinois Gaming Board. The gaming board will make the final decision on issuance of a casino license.
If the casino is approved, Walker's Bluff will transform into a new destination resort named 'The Resort at Walker's Bluff'.
The Resort at Walker's Bluff will cost $180 million and add the following features to the existing property:
Casino with 1,200 gaming machines
Hotel with 330 guest rooms
Deluxe spa
Restaurants
Convention and entertainment center with 12,000 square feet
Indoor-outdoor water park open year-round
Additional information may become available after Walker's Bluff submits its casino application to the Illinois Gaming Board.
